Early Autumn Rambles

It has been a long time since I have posted about the going on here in the "Little House." This is not due to a lack of things to post about, just the drive to do it when so many other things are calling for my attention:)

We have had a very busy spring and summer. We travelled with the Praise Singers this summer. They were a lot of fun to travel with and did a wonderful job in their services. Their tour took them out west, down south, and all about:) So our summer was filled with many church services, camps, and youth camps.....and many, many miles on the road.

Our girls were troopers and did very well traveling. It helped that Kent was able to drop us off so that the girls and I could spend part of the time visiting family.

We returned home and prepared to welcome all the students to a new school year. This was done with a bang....literally, since part of the welcome night was a huge show of fireworks that outdid a lot of small town shows. (This was possible because of the generous donations of several business men who wanted the school to have a nice Welcome Night)

School started up, and we headed out for a wonderful two weeks in Cananda with my parents. This was an absolutely amazing trip. We got to fly with our neighbor in his small airplane. He took us over Moberly Lake as well as over the area where a huge forest fire had started. This fire had at one point put the small town of Moberly Lake on evacuation alert this summer.we also were privileged to go with some of our friends on an amazing boat ride. They took us to a lake called Dinosaur Lake. It is a gorgeous canyon lake. How I love that mountain forest smell, the sparkle of the chilly water, the beauty of the soaring eagle, and the taste of a campfire picnic! A friend of my Dad had also loned him several four wheelers. So we went way back in the mountains, actually right up into the alpine! Once again, we were overwhelmed with the beauty of Gods creation! As Khloe likes to proclaim to everyone that will listen, "We saw lots of wildlife." We were privileged to even get to see a Grizzly Bear. Thankfully he was afraid of our four wheelers, and didn't pose a threat to us:)

Not only was the scenery so enjoyable, but it was also great to worship with Mom and Dad and meet all the wonderful young people who attend their Bible studies.

You can't get much better than a hot cup of coffee, a cozy fire (yes, we did need that once or twice while up there), and a good book! Speaking of a cozy fire, they actually had their first snowfall on Sept 1st while we were up there. This is rather early for snow, even for them....and I am sure it has already warmed up and disappeared.

Needless to say we felt refreshed and invigorated to return to PA for this fall semester.

How often we have proved the verse true, "My God shall supply all your needs, according to His riches in glory...."

Kallista Kaye is Two!

Two years ago we brought home a tiny little baby. She was such a perfectly contented baby. So very good that you would almost forget she was there. I worried that maybe her older sister would eclipse her, and she would never get noticed. But not to fear, that tiny baby is now a lively bubbly little tot of two. Just one look at those twinkly blue eyes and those irresistible dimples and you know you are in for  at least one giggle or two! 

No, I don't have those sweet baby days that I enjoyed so much, but that is ok. I am enjoying each awesome step in the journey of her life. Watching my little girls grow is like watching a beautiful rose unfold.

Now if only God will equip us with the wisdom to aide this lovely little flower in reaching her full potential both physically as well as spiritually!

       

       

      

Birthday Girl

Oh where does time get to? Our sweet firstborn is already four years old. Khloe fills our hearts and lives with so much love, laughter, and  vitality. 

Khloe is a vibrant little girl. She lives life to the full, and makes sure that Mommy and Daddy never have a dull moment. She is extremely perceptive and observant...very scary at times. Khloe loves animals and enjoys the great outdoors with her family, but she also adores shoes, pretty clothes, and fancy hair-do's. 

Although Khloe has a strong will, once taught to submit her will to her parents, she has really proven to be very sensitive. She loves to pray long elaborate prayers, sing at the top of her lungs, and praise the Lord demonstratively, and yet her life has truly been touched by God's presence. I honestly believe that Khloe loves Jesus and has been saved from her sins. She has been known to look up with tears welling in her eyes during a service that is filled with God's presence. Oh, if only she can maintain this hunger for God. 

Though I enjoy making our girls look very girly and their Daddy gives them fatherly praise; it is our greatest desire that they will allow God to so beautify them on the inside that this beauty eclipses their outer beauty.That His character will shine forth, truly making them beautiful. We already talk to Khloe about how important it is to be beautiful on the inside. That this is done by loving Jesus, being kind to everyone, having a sweet attitude, and being obedient.

The way time flies sends us to our knees, we have little understanding on the art of  raising these precious little gifts from God so that they would shine for Him! Just a little photo fun with the girls....

Well, it has been quite awhile since I sat down to update the dear 'ole blog:) We have had a very busy year so far.
In January we headed out on a southern tour with the mail quartet called The Praise Singers, from PVBI. We travelled thousands of miles, were in over twenty services, and were in a handful of states, in just a little over two weeks time. God gave so much strength and what could have been viewed by some as long, tiring, and draining; was actually quite enjoyable.

In February my dad and mom came down for a week to visit us....Well, I am not sure if they wanted to see us or if they just came to see those two little granddaughters:) We had such a nice visit with them. The girls had a bit of a hard time readjusting to life as normal without Gramma and Grampa. 

This winter has truly been a winter of which any Canadian can be proud. We have had a lot of outdoor fun this winter....skating, sledding, and hot cups of cocoa. Even our dog has joined in, giving the girls a jolly ride as she pulls them in their sled:)

We are soon to be headed into our winter school revival and we pray that the Lord will come and refresh our hearts and spirits, and cause us to go deeper with Him!
