Kent and Laura

A love story as told by Kent.....This is the story how I, Kent Engle, met my fiancee, Laura Carveth. I grew up in Michigan and at the age of 23 I came to Pennsylvania to attend Penn View Bible Institute as a full time student. Laura came to Pennsylvania to attend Penn View in 2005 as I was starting my senior year. I was working for the school as a Public Relations representative. Part of my job included showing new students around and helping them through the registration process. We met on registration day as she was registering for her classes. I remember one of our first conversations in the hallway as my friend and I talked to Laura and asked her if she knew French since she was from Canada. That was the start of a great relationship.
We continued to develop our friendship throughout the semester. I became a little worried that she was to be stolen away when other rivals began to notice her. I kept watching her. I was glad to learn when she came back to school after the Christmas holidays that she was still single. I started to pursue her more aggressively and we began to send letters back and forth between the men's and ladies dormitories each night. We began to develop the same circle of friends, and attended a couple of concerts together with our friends. Our first real date was the Junior/Senior banquet on April 10, 2006. During the summer I traveled for the school and she returned to Canada. Our relationship continued to grow as I phoned her nearly every night. She had an uncanny way of seeing inside of me, and understanding what I was feeling. I began to realize that this girl was somebody very special. It seemed like she was designed for me.
She returned to school in the fall and I returned as a full time employee. We both prayed a lot about our relationship and wanted to be sure that it was pleasing to God. Over and over we have sensed His blessing on our relationship. Laura, her brother Joshua, and I traveled up to Ontario where I met her parents for the first time. They seemed to approve of me for which I was very grateful!
As time went by I realized that I loved this girl and wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. I asked her to marry me on May 18, 2007.
 She said yes!
