Easter 2012
How hard it is to fully grasp the depth of the events that surrounded this special time of year. I guess the aspect that stood out to me the most this year was just how devastated and really, in despair the disciples and the women who had followed Jesus must have been at the death of their Lord. Their humanity was so prevalent at this time, all they could see were the clouds of death that hung low over their heads.
I guess with my Grandpa's death being so recent, the reality of the death of a loved one was very sharp in my mind. I can picture how Mary went to the tomb early that Easter morning with the death of the Lord weighing so heavily on her mind. What joy was hers that morning as she discovered the risen Lord! Death was not the victor after all. Our Lord was victor over death, Hell, and the grave! It is because of this wonderful reality that we can rejoice that we too will see our loved ones one day in Heaven. We will all be able to worship at the feet of our risen Lord!
Another lovely event happened this Easter for us and the congregation of Beavertown God's Missionary Church. We were able to have our dedication service of the new church building this Easter. http://beavertownchurch.com/
