Kallista Kaye is Two!

Two years ago we brought home a tiny little baby. She was such a perfectly contented baby. So very good that you would almost forget she was there. I worried that maybe her older sister would eclipse her, and she would never get noticed. But not to fear, that tiny baby is now a lively bubbly little tot of two. Just one look at those twinkly blue eyes and those irresistible dimples and you know you are in for  at least one giggle or two! 

No, I don't have those sweet baby days that I enjoyed so much, but that is ok. I am enjoying each awesome step in the journey of her life. Watching my little girls grow is like watching a beautiful rose unfold.

Now if only God will equip us with the wisdom to aide this lovely little flower in reaching her full potential both physically as well as spiritually!

       

       

      

Birthday Girl

Oh where does time get to? Our sweet firstborn is already four years old. Khloe fills our hearts and lives with so much love, laughter, and  vitality. 

Khloe is a vibrant little girl. She lives life to the full, and makes sure that Mommy and Daddy never have a dull moment. She is extremely perceptive and observant...very scary at times. Khloe loves animals and enjoys the great outdoors with her family, but she also adores shoes, pretty clothes, and fancy hair-do's. 

Although Khloe has a strong will, once taught to submit her will to her parents, she has really proven to be very sensitive. She loves to pray long elaborate prayers, sing at the top of her lungs, and praise the Lord demonstratively, and yet her life has truly been touched by God's presence. I honestly believe that Khloe loves Jesus and has been saved from her sins. She has been known to look up with tears welling in her eyes during a service that is filled with God's presence. Oh, if only she can maintain this hunger for God. 

Though I enjoy making our girls look very girly and their Daddy gives them fatherly praise; it is our greatest desire that they will allow God to so beautify them on the inside that this beauty eclipses their outer beauty.That His character will shine forth, truly making them beautiful. We already talk to Khloe about how important it is to be beautiful on the inside. That this is done by loving Jesus, being kind to everyone, having a sweet attitude, and being obedient.

The way time flies sends us to our knees, we have little understanding on the art of  raising these precious little gifts from God so that they would shine for Him! Just a little photo fun with the girls....

Well, it has been quite awhile since I sat down to update the dear 'ole blog:) We have had a very busy year so far.
In January we headed out on a southern tour with the mail quartet called The Praise Singers, from PVBI. We travelled thousands of miles, were in over twenty services, and were in a handful of states, in just a little over two weeks time. God gave so much strength and what could have been viewed by some as long, tiring, and draining; was actually quite enjoyable.

In February my dad and mom came down for a week to visit us....Well, I am not sure if they wanted to see us or if they just came to see those two little granddaughters:) We had such a nice visit with them. The girls had a bit of a hard time readjusting to life as normal without Gramma and Grampa. 

This winter has truly been a winter of which any Canadian can be proud. We have had a lot of outdoor fun this winter....skating, sledding, and hot cups of cocoa. Even our dog has joined in, giving the girls a jolly ride as she pulls them in their sled:)

We are soon to be headed into our winter school revival and we pray that the Lord will come and refresh our hearts and spirits, and cause us to go deeper with Him!

                                       

                                        

                                        

                                        

                                        

                                        

Some Fun Vintage Pics of the Girls

I was wanting to make some New Years cards to send out to all our friends in the beginning of the year. So I got my little gals together in their matching vintage Christmas outfits, and here is what we got:)

Notice the lack of curl on one side of Kallista's head. That was due to the great fun that they had with Daddy out in the snow earlier that day. But I would rather them enjoy each fun and memorable moment with Daddy than to simply go through life only focused on the "perfect picture":)

Thanksgiving, a Gateway into the heart of Christmas.

Thanksgiving is such a perfect time to draw our focus away from the hectic pace of life to a measure of calm. A place where like Mary, we can pour out our thankfulness at the feet of our Saviour. Truly without Him our lives are but empty broken bits of pottery. But because of His birth that first Christmas, and His death and resurrection we are so blessed. 

It was just a few days ago that I felt His precious Spirit calling me to come away from the hectic duties of Martha and spend some Mary like moments at His feet.

Cout your blessing, name them one by one, and see what The Lord has done....He has blessed me beyond measure. My heart responds with thankfulness.

Time spent with family, lots of yummy food, and so many other blessings!

The day after Thanksgiving.....Off to the tree farm to find that perfect tree:)

I sure hope they have as much fun picking out their tree as mommy did way up north in Canada when she was a little girl!

Enjoying that warm drink that is not only sweet to the lips but a great comfort to those fingers that are chilled to the bone.....hot cocoa:)

How is it that the perfect tree is always just slightly more gigantic when brought into the house:)

I am enjoying my choc brown, gold, and green tree, with a hint of burlap. However, it is always sad that pictures just never do a Christmas tree justice:(

A close up...

The nativity is always a special part of decorating for Christmas. Kent usually sets it up with the girls while he tells them the Christmas story. This year Khloe was very into the story and ALL the details.

She remembered the live Nativity from last year and couldn't wait to go again. When we visited it this year she was a bit perplexed and queried as to where the camels were. She said, " Well, Daddy, wasn't right when he said the wise men were preparing to ride the camels because there weren't any camels." Daddy explained that that farm didn't have any camels....we tried to tell her hat they were just telling us the story of Jesus. She also was a little disappointed that Mary wasn't riding the donkey. However, she loves to tell people how she saw a real baby Jesus!

If only we can continue to help these two little people fall in love with Jesus. Khloe often prays, "That she just wants Jeaus in her heart, and to please help her to make it to Heaven!"
